The visual lightness created by lightweight architecture leads to the misconception that structures made from fabrics are temporary solutions. In fact, with proven design life in the excess of 30 years, fabric buildings can last generations and conform to the same structural codes as conventional buildings. The development of high-tech synthetic fabrics and surface coatings provide materials with increased durability and can even create fabrics with self-cleaning properties resulting in enhanced longevity of the structure. This section deals with structures designed and executed by us with the potential lifespan of fabric several decades, making fabric architecture not only an aesthetically superior product but also a commercially viable one.
